Now is the time to plan your activity for the Journées de la culture
Artists, artisans, cultural workers, and community, municipal, education and business sector stakeholders and employees from all walks of life, backgrounds and ethnic groups are invited to propose one or more activities for the 2024 edition of the Journées de la culture, which will be held on September 27, 28 and 29! You are free to take part at any time and for as long as you wish.
By participating in the event, you…
- Show your commitment to arts and culture;
- Contribute to the cultural influence of your community;
- Create new collaborations and expand your network;
- Reach new audiences;
- Benefit from the event’s notoriety, media coverage and national promotional campaign;
- Shine on the Web with our online programming.
To become an organizer, all you have to do is design and take charge of the delivery of one or more activities.
Participation is free and voluntary.
Eligibility Criteria
All activities registered for the event program must:
- Be carried out by or with professional artists, artisans and/or cultural workers;
- Be accessible to the public free of charge*;
- Be original and encourage public interaction;
- Take at least one of the following forms: discovery, initiation, creation, encounter, citizen participation…
- Take place during the official dates of the Journées de la culture and be registered on the event’s website.
*Given the importance and the essential nature of their work, all professional artists should be compensated fairly and equitably by the organizers who use their services.
Important Dates :
Tuesday June 4, 2024 – registration opens.
Monday, July 15, midnight – register at least one activity before this date to take full advantage of our promotional campaign.
Monday, September 9, 5 p.m. – registration closes.
No new activities will be accepted after this date. Although permitted, changes to registered activities should be avoided wherever possible.
Monday, September 23, 5 p.m. – after this date, you will not be able to make any changes to your activities.
By registering one or more activities with Journées de la culture, you agree to :
- Provide details of your activities and update them as needed to ensure the accuracy and relevance of the information online;
- Use the Journées de la culture logo in your promotional activities, in compliance with graphic standards (you can download the logo and graphic standards guide from the website). We also encourage you to use the digital posters you can download from your organizer profile;
- Inform the public and the Journées de la culture team of any changes or cancellations to your event;
- Complete the post-event participation survey.
