On Friday, September 30 2022, hundreds of thousands of young people from Quebec and the Canadian Francophonie will kick off the 26th Journées de la culture by performing Les doigts en cœur, an original song proposed by Louis-Jean Cormier and the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal, under the direction of Maestro Rafael Payare.
Want to sing and play with them? Sign up to be part of the fun! As they go online, you’ll have access to the two versions of the song, the multiple scores (including orchestral scores!), the pedagogical guide and the tutorial for the choreography created by the company PPS Danse.
On September 30th, in the afternoon, Louis-Jean will answer the children’s questions live on the Journées de la culture’s Facebook page! Details to come; stay tuned!

« When I was first approached to write the new Chanson à l’école, a big smile came over my face. I must admit that I silently cherished the idea of being asked, while secretly envying my artist friends who had done it before! (Laughs) I have a strong connection with young people, with their imagination, with the passing on of knowledge, with the idea of sharing the contagious pleasure of music. While writing the song, my heart went straight back to childhood and echoes of Gilles Vigneault resounded. Knowing that this song will vibrate in the voices of thousands of young people everywhere is probably the greatest gift you can give to a creator. I feel overwhelmed with gratitude towards life, towards all those who will sing my song and, finally, towards the great team of Une chanson à l’école. »
– Louis-Jean Cormier
