Do you like memes? You’ll like J’aime les mots!
As part of the school component of the Journées de la culture, high school teachers are invited to register their classes to J’aime les mots, an entertaining out-of-the-box activity sponsored this year by actress and host Léane Labrèche-Dor! After its launch on September 30th, the activity will continue until Friday, October 28th, when Léane will spend a few hours providing feedback on the students’ creations.
J’aime les mots fits easily into the content of various subjects. Have your students create memes to express their opinions on major issues in our society or respond to current news items in their French, history, art, theatre, mathematics, ethics and religious culture, or other classes.
Léane Labrèche-Dor, activity sponsor

« It is a pleasure and an honour to sponsor the J’aime les mots activity and to encourage creation among young people. For me, creation should always be the ultimate tool for youth and they should know how to use it and rework it to their liking. This is what this activity is all about by asking young people to create memes. They are the best to do it and to impress us! »
– Léane Labrèche-Dor
New Features
To stimulate the participants, Léane will establish on Fridays, October 7, 14 and 21, three Top-5 of the best creations, which will be put forward in our social networks.
Banks containing a vast array of striking images
All modes of discourse—humour, poetry, philosophical reflection, irony, etc.— are permitted, as long as you use the banks of images astutely selected by the partner institutions!
Redesigned educational tools
Based on teacher feedback, we redesigned the teaching materials and made it easier to access images from participating institutions.
