Description
*****
Relief printing has been used to illustrate manuscripts since the earliest days of book printing, as well as to create individual works of art. Artist Elizabeth Adams will show the process of planning a print, transferring a drawing to a linoleum block, carving it, and then inking and pulling a print by hand. Attendees will have the chance for hands-on participation by inking and printing a block themselves.
In addition to some finished prints that people can look at, the artist will bring copies of several of her own books that are illustrated with relief prints and explain how that works. See also: http://www.phoeniciapublishing.com/annunciation.html
